summer at the shop

I don't think I've ever posted  a photo of my library door but it does get a lot of attention by all who stop in!
Meggie stopped by to try out our new "Woufs", dogie beds, from her buddies Dash and Albert with Fresh American.
Almost sold out of our first order of Lauren's pillows!
'It's so serene in your shop" , one customer said this morning!  Success!
I couldn't talk Meggie into staying so I had to find some stand ins;  "The Little Terrier" by Heather Hurley, Water Color , a local artist and a dear sweet friend; and of course Daisy from Dash and Albert's group!

july 4, 2014 in cayucos, california

This jewelry artist mixes vintage pieces with new pieces like I like to design my interiors.  Her name is Maria, a California girl like me!

Sea Weed, water color
Our flag hangs proudly at the entry hall!

Chairs were parked in there spaces for this beautiful patriotic crowd since Tuesday, July 1 that says that this town and all its welcome visitors take this holiday and this parade seriously.  This girl loves a parade!
The best and most beautiful float!

summer attractions

Summer's here and my lavender is so happy!
New at Greywood Home and Garden, locally made!
Rosemary Topiary perfect for every kitchen window sill.
New Batik prints!
Batik is a form of reverse dying, the negative space is blocked with wax then the fabric bolt is dipped in to the dye, it's dried in the sun and the last step is the wax is melted and you have your print.
They're perfect for the relaxed atmosphere at the beach.

back from a break

Hello!

I haven't posted in a long while because I didn't think I had any followers but it turns out I do and apparently I've been missed!  So keep logging on and I'll keep writing and posting.

Winter at the beach was very quite and now that the crowds have returned the town is all a buzz!  One of my pleasures  as "shop girl" is meeting people from around the world.  The visitors love this little town for its uniqueness and they're always surprised that they happen upon it!  Come visit Cayucos, it's lovely.

my house is cozy....

Blanc et Gris

I should say "our house" I have a bad habit of calling it mine.  My husband is a fisherman and has his boat to do to it what he likes so he lets me pretty much make the decisions for the interiors of the house, as well as the garden.  All, still a work in progress.  But I do love to add a bit here and there as our budget allows.  You might have seen the trunk and grain sack pillow in the article that I wrote about the Remnants of the Past.  In our house its all about what my neighbor and friend, Connie calls "cozy".  I'll take that complement!

Lisa's House

Lisa and I have been working on her house and we just had the table delivered and the light fixture in the breakfast nook installed.  This is also where we intended the weathered urn that we found at Remnants of the Past to be placed.  Several white hydrangeas will should top it off.

The settee and pillows she purchased from my studio.

a great find on the coast of California

On my travels up and down our coast I come across some wonderful places.  One that I found several trips past but took some time to peruse through, this last time there, is Village Consignments in Solana Beach.  The merchandise moves fast through this shop so if you see something that's perfect for your home grab it!

There were a pair of these!  They need a different shade but they're fantastic pieces!

my favorite things

My girls were in town this week assisting me with updating the shop!  We had a productive and delightful time displaying my favorite things............................
My Shop Girls, Lauren and Ella.  Life is grand!
Indoor Outdoor Pillows
We got our shipment of draperies from Cote Bastide!

at market

A client of mine, Lisa, and I took a day to look for some "things old" for her home and mine.  This piece is one I suggested she purchase for her new dining table, which is yet to arrive, but this gorgeous urn will look setting atop it.

These shutters could be fantastic set on a barn door track for my bath entrance!

A new coffee table for my tiny house?

Lots and lots of goodies....
