A great link about real life designer expectation....

New Item
A source of mine just sent me an email with a link to this great article that is on the apartmenttherapy blog.  I really enjoyed the article and feel it puts these great home and garden shows in real perspective.

A few things that I could add to the commentary in the article are:  a good designer has gone to school for design and knows the history and classic architectural order, which is the basis for all western design.  A good interiors designer has studied construction and materials and has excellent spaceplanning knowledge and skills.  Anyone else should, in my opinion, not be considered a designer,  but could maybe be considered an "interior stylist".

A customer of mine called me an interior decorator and then quickly apologized for it.  I let him know that I didn't mind what he called me as long as I get the job.

Any way here's the link.  Enjoy the article.

Amethyst

The color for fall is amethyst.
I had the opportunity to visit the San Diego International Flower Market and found these large and glorious hydrangeas.  This amethyst range of color is wonderful and rich.   Rich burgundy to a burnt green color they're so spectacular.
